Jamie James wins Canada Green Building Council Toronto award

“Sustainability is a journey, it’s not a goal,” said Jamie James, Tridel’s Environmental Consultant, at the Canada Green Building Council (CaGBC) Greater Toronto Chapter Gala. “I don’t think there’s anyone in this room who can claim it as an accomplishment. At least not yet. I know it’s hard to imagine anyone is going to get there on their own. So we really have to work together.”

Jamie won the Chapter Recognition Award at this year’s event, which was held last week.

Jamie James accepts the Chapter Recognition Award from the Canada Green Building Council.

“Jamie James, is recognized for his contributions to LEED® in the biggest residential market in Canada, here in the GTA,” said Brian Denney, from Toronto and Region Conservation Authority. “Resulting in more than 25 residential towers either having achieved, or being candidates for, LEED® certification.”

Jamie was lauded for his study of energy consumption in LEED® highrise buildings and for founding Towerlabs@MaRs — a nonprofit that works to make green building more mainstream.

“It’s more than just good intentions,” said Jamie. “It’s a testament to the quality of the project teams that I’ve had the privilege of working with and also stems from the ongoing commitment of Tridel’s leadership.”

Congratulations, Jamie!
