New photos have been taken of Metrogate park, in Scarborough near Kennedy and 401, which is beginning its transformation into a lush green space.
Or for a visual representation… This:
Will soon be turning into this:
The park should be completed in about a month. It’s just under two acres and will feature a jungle gym, playing field, pedestrian walkways, bridge and granite art work.
It’s also a sustainable park, as Metrogate is targeting LEED® neighbourhood development certification, one of the first pilot project communities to do so in North America.
“The park was designed for pedestrians and to promote walking and outdoor activities,” says Luke Johnson, Deltera Project Coordinator.
The drainage basin of the park is made of crushed, reclaimed building materials, which keeps the materials usable and out of the landfill. It’s a sustainable system that doesn’t add to the infrastructure load, since it’s not connected to the city’s sewage system. The park will be illuminated with high efficiency lighting, which saves electricity.

At Metrogate, Solaris is move in ready and has
some suites available. Ventus is currently under construction with the first tower of Ventus to start occupancy this summer. Avani is the newest launch, with an expected occupancy of early 2014.
