Yesterday, I got a behind-the-scenes look at how a lifestyle television segment is shot. CityLine was filming at Reve (Front and Portland) in the award-winning amenities.
Kelly Cray, Reve’s designer and a principal at UNION31, gave the CityLine producer and videographer a tour of the great spaces and then they shot scenes in the main party areas, meeting room and billiards room.
The idea of the shoot was to show how great condo amenities have become. Most condo dwellers think of them as an extension of their home and the condo lifestyle. But CityLine also wanted to show how the design and decor at Reve can be transferred into more private residential spaces. So, for example, how to use the bold red colour throughout Reve in your own home.
Kelly talked about a number of design elements at Reve, including how:
- a fireplace can be incorporated into a large room
- structural columns can become a feature in a room
- to use indirect light
- to use bold colours in a kitchen
This segment won’t air right away, but we hope to let you know when it does.

Hello, I would like to know what type of glossy mosaic was used on the pillars. I have to pillars in my basement and we are making it into an inhome spa but I did like the mosaic on the pillars. Also do you have other ideas for the pillars that would be inexpensive for my spa and how I could cover up the basement wall without painting the cement. We did drywall one wall but the other we would like to leave it bare but there has to be some way to make it appealling and serine. Any suggestion would be appreciated. Thank you. P.S. even for the basement floor.
