Always the industry leader, we’ve implemented a technology that ensures a higher level of safety for workers and the surrounding area at 300 Front Street West. An RCS (railing climbing system) is being installed and should be completed by the end of next month.
“It’s an enclosure around the top of the building that allows us to work when the weather is not so favourable and it ensures maximum safety,” says Tony Battista, Project Manager.
Made of wood, it’s completely closed in and protects the construction workers from high winds while also ensuring that nothing blows off the top of the site.
“It’s a sensitive location given our proximity to the nearby buildings, such as the CBC, Metro Toronto Convention Centre and the hydro system,” says Tony. “It’s zero lot line. We don’t have a lot of leeway.”
The biggest challenge has been deliveries at the location, “next to near impossible,” says Tony. But the RCS will also help speed up construction as the working materials are in the same space.
Currently, work at 300 Front Street West is at the seventh floor. The next stages include window installations and starting the interiors.
We still have suites available at this fantastic downtown location, with occupancy expected to begin mid 2013. The presentation centre is in Reve at 560 Front Street West (close to Bathurst). Visit or call 416-217-0300 to learn more.

Impressive project! I’m wondering if there are any other local projects implementing the ACS-R system?
