Tridel Takes Top Honours at Annual Home Builder Awards

Named High-Rise Home Builder of the Year by the GTHBA

Home Builder Of The Year

Toronto, Ontario... This year marked the 24th annual Home Builder Awards, hosted each year by the Greater Toronto Home Builders' Association (GTHBA), which honour outstanding achievement in community planning, design, development, marketing and sales. The pinnacle of the evening is the presentation of the coveted Home Builder of the Year award, which recognizes the builder who sets the standard for the rest of the industry, excelling in quality, service and customer commitment. As part of the judging criteria, each finalist for this award is subjected to an independent survey in which their homeowners answer questions about every stage of their purchase experience. And, this year was Tridel's year, as the company walked away with the prestigious and much-sought-after award.

"We are honoured to receive such recognition from both our industry colleagues and our homebuyers," says Jim Ritchie, Senior Vice-President, Sales and Marketing, Tridel. "This award recognizes the hard work and commitment of every member of the Tridel team to provide our purchasers with the highest quality home, and the very best service from the moment they enter one of our sales offices or visit our website. We continually seek new innovations in design and technology to provide our homebuyers with the very best, and we will continue to do so."

Tridel has demonstrated a firm commitment to both its customers, and the communities in which it develops, in a number of ways. Most recently, Tridel introduced a new environmental initiative at Element in Toronto called "Naturally Better" - a program that meets the needs of today's homeowners while protecting the environment for future generations. The "Naturally Better" program is designed to improve energy efficiency, reduce harmful emissions that cause pollution and global climate change, preserve natural resources and reduce waste, allowing Tridel to build responsibly today, while sustaining healthy living for tomorrow.

Tridel also supports several charitable organizations. The company has made a long-term commitment to the Canadian Cardiac Rehabilitation Foundation, and its Annual Walk of Life fundraiser, which is now in its 18th year. Tridel also acts as a lead sponsor for The Dragon Ball, one of the most important charity events in the Chinese community. Recent initiatives also include the construction of Phase III of Copernicus Lodge, a long-term care, supportive housing and adult day facility in Toronto, a contribution to the Older Adult Centre at Square One Shopping Centre in Mississauga, a joint donation with the Scarborough Town Centre to the Ontario Nurses' Association Benevolent Fund, and continuing support of the Children's Wish Foundation.

Since the construction of its first home in 1934, Tridel has produced more than 65,000 homes, both freehold and condominium, at every conceivable price point, and size. Customers include first-time homebuyers, empty-nesters, singles, families and anyone who might enjoy the carefree condominium lifestyle. Tridel's word-mark, "Built for Life®," reflects the company's long-term commitment to its customers, and that Tridel homes are built to last and to satisfy each and every purchaser's lifestyle. And the results of that commitment speak for themselves. Tridel has 5,500 homes currently under development in more than 20 different communities, across the Greater Toronto Area.
