Soon to be home to Toronto’s most anticipated master-planned community, the condominium residences of The Well, located at Front and Spadina, was officially launched on Monday, June 3rd, 2019 by executives from Tridel, RioCan RIET, Woodbourne and Mayor John Tory.
As the residential, commercial and retail buildings rise around it, one section of The Well includes the excavation of a deep cistern near the centre of the site. This cistern will connect to the Enwave Deep Lake Water Cooling (DLWC) system to provide heating and cooling to the 11,000 people who will live and work at The Well.
I read an excellent article recently in Novae Res Urbis about the proposed Housing Supply Action Plan initiated in November, which aims to increase provincial housing supply. Municipalities and stakeholders are recommending a “holistic plan that aligns municipal and provincial policy, reduces hurdles and priorities the creation of affordable housing in perpetuity.”
