Doors Open at Edenbridge on The Kingsway
On Tuesday, August 13th, Tridel and First Capital Realty opened our doors to welcome guests from the Humber Valley Village Residents Association for an informal gathering at the newly completed Edenbridge on The Kingsway Presentation Gallery.
The evening began with an update on progress from Bryan Sherwood, Senior Manager, Planning and Development, Tridel and Anne Anderson of the Humber Valley Village Residents Association. A brief question and answer period followed, where guests were given the opportunity to ask questions and engage in conversation about the future of the residential condominium development.
Edenbridge on The Kingsway is a nine-storey mid-rise condominium consisting of 182 residences, including 24 garden townhomes, being developed by First Capital Realty and Tridel. Thoughtfully designed to pay homage to the surrounding neighbourhood, with a modern flair, Edenbridge makes a statement in modern heritage design. Situated amidst the Humber Valley, characterized by distinguished stone homes, boutique shops, and tree-lined streets, Edenbridge features a terraced profile that respects the quiet elegance of the neighbourhood. Exterior finishes include brick and locally sourced Humberstone, a type of riverstone featured in many of the area homes.
Embracing the Neighbourhood In Architecture
Every new community has its own challenges. It is often these challenges, when embraced, that afford the greatest opportunities. Such has been the case with the Edenbridge community. One such challenge was a change to the original plan suggested by Tridel and First Capital to adjust the proposed location of a portion of the 24 townhomes along Royal York Road. In effect, this change ensured the terraced exterior of the building was more in line with the community and that the townhomes would now face the established single-family homes on the opposite side of the street. Widely greeted with approval, the new plan ensures that Edenbridge blends beautifully into the existing neighbourhood.
Together with our partners at First Capital Realy, we look forward to continuing to work with the City of Toronto and the Humber Valley Village Residents Association to create a condominium that not only embraces the history and beauty of the neighbourhood but enriches the larger community as well.
