Team Tridel at the 2018 Walk of Life
It was a beautiful sunny day, perfect for a walk in the park, and that’s exactly what we did. With a choice of a 1 km, 3 km, or 5 km Walk and a 5 km or 10 Run, there was something for everyone, from serious runners to families with multiple generations.
The Cardiac Health Foundation of Canada is a charitable organization dedicated to supporting cardiac rehabilitation through the promotion and development of cardiac rehabilitation services and the education and prevention of cardiovascular disease in Canada. The foundation also works to promote active recovery for those who have been impacted by this disease.
Hitting the Trails for Cardiac Health
Hosted at the Ontario Science Centre, the day began with a pre-walk/run warm up and the arrival of several characters from the popular children’s television show, Paw Patrol. Once warmed up, participants hit the trails of the of scenic E.T. Seton Park, a part of the West Don River trail system.
Following the walk, supporters returned to the Ontario Science Centre where they were treated to an “After Walk Celebration” including delicious food, a live band and activities for the kids. The celebrations ensured a fun and interactive day for everyone.
Overall, the National Walk of Life campaign raises funds for more than 30 programs across Canada.
