Gathering with friends and family, feasting on good food, gift-giving and more. The holiday season is an exciting time of year. It’s also one of the busiest. If one of your New Year’s resolutions is finding a new home, you’re in luck! The Tridel Presentation Centres will be open over the holidays.
Of course, there are a whole host of events in the city we wouldn’t want you to miss while you’re out and about:
Stacks of Fun: If you’re planning on visiting The Well Presentation Centre, located in downtown Toronto, one of the city’s newest and most unique spaces, the Stackt Market, is just a short stroll away. In the lead up to December 22nd, Stackt has a packed schedule of events planned for all to enjoy, including Toronto’s first Crokicurl rink, choir singalongs, holiday shopping and much more. Heading in the other direction along King Street, the Entertainment District is just a short walk away and there is always plenty to do. The TIFF Lightbox is hosting a series of cinematic giants onscreen, including 2001: A Space Odyssey, Lawrence of Arabia and Scorsese’s Mean Streets. And if you have not seen the very canadian smash hit “Come From Away“, now is the perfect opportunity to catch the show at the Royal Alexandra Theatre.
Enjoy the Waterfront: Just down the street from the Aqualuna at Bayside, the Natrel Skating Rink at the Harbourfront Centre is open Sunday through Thursday from 9 am to 10pm and Friday to Saturday from 9 am to 11 pm, with breaks for regular maintenance of the ice. It also offers heated indoor changerooms, skate rentals and best of all, skating is free! On Saturday nights, the rink transforms into a dance club, complete with DJ. And of course, there’s the annual New Year’s Eve Skating Party, complete with DJ from 8 pm to 1 am. Even closer to home, the Paul Quarrington Skating Rink at Sherbourne Common will also be open most days from 10 am to 10 pm. Located just off Queens Quay, the park offers beautiful views of Lake Ontario and is conveniently close to the Waterfront Promenade and the Distillery District, so there is lots to do on and off the ice. If you’re looking for something a little different, Ontario Place also has an exciting holiday line up of events. Warm up and catch a movie at the Cinesphere or head outside to enjoy the stunning light displays of the Aurora Winter Festival, with tube park, rides, entertainment, food gardens and more.
Explore The Kingsway: Offering a unique blend of nostalgia and independant theatre, the Kingsway Theatre hosts an exciting and eclectic blend of first run and classic movies, and it’s just a short distance away from our luxurious, new Edenbridge on The Kingsway community. For something a little cozier, Toronto’s historic Old Mill is hosting a festive Nutcracker Afternoon Tea until December 31st. For those who require a heartier meal, the Old Mill also offers a Festive Buffet where you can cozy up in front of the fire in the Old Mill dining room and enjoy the flavours of the season.
Tridel Presentation Centres will return to regular hours on Thursday, January 2nd, 2020.
