Ideas on How to Enjoy the Holiday Season

The holiday season is upon us and while this year’s celebrations will be different than in years past, it also affords the opportunity to create some new traditions with your family.

If you’re looking to get out over the holiday season, we have compiled a list of ideas for fun things to do.

Casa Loma’s Holiday Light Tour

For those in a more central location, Casa Loma has been transformed into a fairytale of lights.  Running from December 22nd through to January 31st, each evening between 4 and 10 pm, you can stroll through the magically lit grounds of our castle in the city, and even stop for hot chocolate on those especially cold nights. Tickets range between $35 and $43 per person.

Immerse yourself in Van Gogh

For anyone who likes art, or just likes Van Gogh, this is your chance to go beyond staring at a Starry Night and Gogh inside and be immersed in an animated display of Van Gough paintings, from the comfort of your car.  While the Walk-Thru version remains temporarily closed, the Drive-Thru version is currently open.   Tickets are available online.

Relive the Thrill of Tobogganing

When was the last time you felt your heart-pounding as you raced downhill, flying over every bump? If you can’t remember the last time you went tobogganing, maybe it’s time to bundle up and hit the slopes. If you’re not sure where to find a great hill where tobogganing is allowed in and around the City of Toronto, this list by Toronto.com has done the research for you.

Strap on the Skates

Winter means ice in Canada, and there is nothing more Canadian than enjoying the tingle of chilly air on your cheeks as you glide over the ice.  Of course, it’s just as nice to warm up afterwards with a warm mug of hot chocolate.  And with our recent cold temperatures, ice rinks across the city are open and ready to enjoy!  One reminder though, this year, you will need to reserve ice time before you lace up.  To find your closest outdoor rink, check out the cityrinks.ca website.
